Since the outbreak of COVID-19 Judea and Samaria have been relatively quiet, with the exception of the stones and Molotov cocktails thrown at Israeli vehicles. The Gaza Strip has also been relatively quiet, with the suspension of the return marches and Hamas' focusing on fighting the virus. However, the PA's fight against the virus has been accompanied by a smear campaign against Israel. In the Gaza Strip fighting the virus has been accompanied by a Hamas blame campaign and threats.

The fight against the spread of COVID-19 in the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon

On February 1, 2020, the first case of COVID-19 infection was detected in Lebanon. On March 10, 2020, the first COVID-19 patient died. So far (updated to April 10, 2020), a total of 582 people have been infected in Lebanon, 29 of them severely. A total of 19 people have died of COVID-19 and 67 recovered. There were no reports of patients among the Palestinians living in the refugee camps. However, it should be taken into account that there may be such cases which were not detected.

The Fight Against COVID-19 in the Palestinian Authority (Updated to April 19, 2020)

According to reports from the Palestinian Authority (PA), this past week the number of COVID-19 cases rose to 309 (259 last week). That is a relatively moderate increase in the number of cases and apparently so far the spread of the virus is under control.

The fight against COVID-19 in the Gaza Strip (updated to April 19, 2020)

According to reports from the Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases over the past week remains unchanged. To date, 13 patients have been identified in the Gaza Strip, who arrived through the Rafah Crossing. Nine of them have already recovered, the rest are mild cases and have been admitted to a hospital at the Rafah Crossing.
