Sporadic rocket fire from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory continues

On the evening of December 25, 2019, a rocket was launched at Ashkelon during an election rally of Prime Minister Netanyahu. So far, a total of 10 rockets were launched into Israeli territory in seven firing incidents since the ceasefire achieved at the end of the latest round of escalation (Operation Black Belt).

Additional Syrian army attack against the rebel organizations (update)

So far, over 40 towns and villages have been taken over in the Syrian army offensive east and southeast of the city of Maarat Nu'man, near the M-5 highway to Aleppo and Idlib . In the ITIC's assessment, the objective of the Syrian army attack is to establish its presence on the M-5 highway leading northward, take over Maarat Nu’man, and prepare for the attack on Idlib, the rebel stronghold, with the aim of achieving a decisive victory in the campaign which has been going on for about seven months.

Hamas’s perception of the lull agreement with Israel, recently discussed in Cairo

On December 2, 2019, two senior delegations, from Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), arrived in Cairo. The Hamas delegation was headed by Ismail Haniyah, the head of Hamas’s Political Bureau, and the PIJ delegation was headed by Ziyad Nakhaleh, PIJ’s secretary-general.
