Hamas activist Fadi al-Batsh killed in Malaysia

On April 21, 2018, two masked assailants shot Fadi al-Batsh to death in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Fadi al-Batsh, 35, a Palestinian from the Gaza Strip, was an electrical engineer and a lecturer at the British-Malaysian Institute of the Kuala Lumpur University. According to a Malaysian newspaper, he was also an expert in the construction of rockets, active in Islamist groups in Malaysia and a Hamas activist.

Initial Analysis of the Identities of Gazans Killed During the “Great Return March” on March 30 and April 6, 2018

During and after the events of "great return march" that began on March 20, 2018, between 32 and 34 Palestinians were killed (as of April 11, 2018). Most of them have been identified as terrorist operatives affiliated with Hamas and the other terrorist organizations operating in the Gaza Strip.

The “Great Return March” Events of April 13, 2018

Hamas and the organizers of the events will apparently make an effort to preserve the tension along the border at least until May 15, 2018 (Nakba Day). Friday, April 20, 2018, has been designated as "the Friday of the shaheeds and prisoners," a subject close to the hearts of many Palestinians. That may succeed in motivating more demonstrators to go to the border fence and may also motivate the residents of Judea and Samaria to hold their own events.

The killing of Palestinian press photographer Yasser Murtaja by the IDF during the events of the Great March of Return highlighted a phenomenon of operatives of Hamas employed as media personnel

Yasser Abdul Rahman Murtaja was a 30-year-old Palestinian press photographer On April 6, 2018, Murtaja was wounded by IDF gunfire while filming the violent clashes between Palestinian demonstrators and IDF forces a few hundred. According to Israeli security sources, press photographer Yasser Murtaja was a Hamas operative. According to the same sources, he served for years as an officer with the rank of captain in the Hamas security services in the Gaza Strip.
