Rockets fired by the Abdullah Azzam Brigades into the western Galilee – update *

On August 27, 2013, Sheikh Siraj al-Din Zariqat’s Twitter account gave the full text of the Abdullah Azzam Brigades/Ziyad Al-Jarrah Battalions’ claim of responsibility for firing four 122-mm Grad rockets with a range of 40 km, or about 25 miles, at Nahariya and Acre.

The attack was meant to challenge Hezbollah, part of the leaking of the confrontation leaking between the Sunni jihadists and Shi’ite Hezbollah from Syria into Lebanon.

This past week Israel was attacked by approximately three rockets; apparently two of them targeted Eilat (Israel’s southernmost city). A committee of Israeli government ministers headed by Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon authorized the release of 26 Palestinian terrorists, most of them Fatah operatives.
