Iranian threats toward Israel: the chief of staff of Iran’s Armed Forces threatened with Iranian retaliation if Israel persists in striking Iranian interests in Syria and at sea. In addition, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) threatened that Iran will respond to any “evil action” by the “Zionists” against it, with a force equal to the blow it is dealt, or even with greater force.

In the second week of Ramadan, ISIS's terrorism further increased, especially in Iraq, Syria, and Africa. In Africa, ISIS operatives mainly took control of army camps. Syria: ISIS continued to inflict casualties on the Syrian army in the desert area (Al-Badia). Iraq: This week, there was an increase in ISIS’s terror activity in general, and especially in the Diyala Province. Afghanistan: An increase was evident in the scope of ISIS’s attacks against security personnel, especially in the Jalalabad region. ISIS’s activity in Africa was noteworthy this week as well. In Nigeria, ISIS operatives attacked, for the third time in the past month, the town of Damasak, near the border between Nigeria and Niger. Syria witnessed a decrease in the scope of ISIS’s activity this week. Iraq also witnessed a decrease in the scope of ISIS’s activity this week. Spotlight on Global Jihad (March 25 – April 7, 2021)

The main event was the takeover of the city of Palma by operatives of ISIS’s Central Africa Province. Syria: In the Idlib region, artillery exchanges continued between the Syrian army and the forces supporting it and the rebel forces. Iraq: ISIS’s activity in the past two weeks focused on carrying out attacks against police and army posts in the Kirkuk Province.
