Spotlight on Global Jihad (June 13-19, 2019)

In the Idlib region, thefighting continues between the Syrian army and the rebel organizations, led by the Headquarters for the Liberation of Al-Sham. ISIS is concentrating its efforts in the Syrian arena on extensive terrorist and guerrilla activity against the Kurdish SDF forces. In Iraq ISIS continued its terrorist and guerrilla activity in the various provinces, mainly in northern and western Iraq. In ISIS’s various provinces in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, the “routine” activity continued.

Spotlight on Iran (June 2 -16, 2019)

On June 13, two oil tankers were attacked in the Gulf of Oman. Iran rejected the accusations and blamed foreign actors for the attack, which was carried out during a visit of the Japanese prime minister to Tehran. The deputy commander of the IRGC called Iranian presence in Syria “the realization of a divide duty”. During a visit to the Khuzestan Province in southwestern Iran, the senior military adviser of the Supreme Leader of Iran called to connect Iran, Iraq and Syria. During the Quds Day speeches in the Gaza Strip, senior Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad Officials thanked Iran for its support for the Palestinians

Spotlight on Global Jihad (June 5-12, 2019)

About a month after the start of the Syrian army offensive in the Idlib region, the rebel groups, led by the Headquarters for the Liberation of Al-Sham, mounted a counterattack. In Iraq Terrorist and guerrilla activity continued in the various provinces. The main event of the week in ISIS’s provinces outside Syria and Iraq was an attack by ISIS’s Sinai Province on an Egyptian police checkpoint in southern Al-Arish. The "routine" activity in ISIS’s other provinces around the world continued.

Iran Calls to Turn the Events of “International Quds Day” on May 31, 2019, into a Show of Defiance Against President Trump’s “Deal of the Century”

The “International Quds [Jerusalem] Day,” is held each year since 1979 on the last Friday in the month of Ramadan, following a ruling of the leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ruhollah Khomeini. The event is intended to express the support for the Palestinian cause by Iran and the Muslim world and the “liberation of Palestine,” as well as to besmirch Israel, call of its eradication and defy the United States, the West and their Arab regional allies.

Anti-Israeli demonstration and rally held in central London to mark Nakba Day, with the participation of members of the Labour Party and the support of its leader, Jeremy Corbyn. Hamas expressed its appreciation to Corbyn for his support.

On May 11, 2019, a demonstration and rally were held in central London to mark the Palestinian Nakba Day. The events were organized by several anti-Israeli organizations operating in Britain, whose objective is to demonize Israel and promote the BDS campaign. The Nakba Day events in London were attended by between 3,000 and 4,000 demonstrators. At the head of the demonstrators marched Ahed Tamimi, a young Palestinian woman from the village of Nabi Salih (near Ramallah).
